    About Us

Weir’s Furniture Home is Who We Are

    Values

While furniture and design trends come and go, our unwavering belief in courtesy, respect and honest, up-front value pricing has been the cornerstone of our business for three generations. We remain a local, family-owned business dedicated to treating every person according to the Golden Rule.

    Commitment

We’re committed to serving you, our customer, and helping you create a stylish and inviting home. We go to great lengths to curate a selection of high quality, affordably priced furnishings that reflect your individual tastes. And we offer locations in four communities in Dallas and Fort Worth so the pursuit of style can take place closer to home.

    Services

At Weir’s, service begins with our people. We strive to provide a warm, friendly shopping experience with knowledgeable associates who are ready to serve and advise. We also own and operate our own fleet of delivery trucks, so you’ll receive the same care and courteous service from our delivery team. Read more about our delivery services.

    Our History

It was March 19th, 1948, when J. Ray Weir, son of a furniture merchant and known as “Ray” to family and friends, opened the first Weir’s Furniture Company in a modest 20-by-70-foot storefront on Knox Street. Since that day, the company has grown to 4 locations in Dallas, Plano, Southlake and Farmers Branch, Texas, over 300 associates and continues to practice Ray’s foundational belief— “put God first in everything you do; treat each other with kindness, courtesy, patience and compassion; speak the truth and be honest even when it may cost us.”

Some Pivotal Moments in Our History

    1948 March 19th

On March 19th, second generation furniture merchant J. Ray Weir opens Weir’s Early American Shop on Knox Street in Dallas. For the next 24 years, he immerses himself in his business, buying all the furniture for the store, uncrating it and hand-polishing each piece himself. He waits on customers, makes deliveries in his 1937 Chevy truck, and eventually acquires neighboring storefronts to expand.

    1963May 1st

Dedicated to preserve old time traditions, the Weir’s Country Store opens. Filled with unique treasures, old fashioned candy and 25-cent popcorn. Fully restored post office added in 1969.

    1972October 10th

Ray and his wife Bea retire, and son Dan is appointed the role of President.

    1998March 19th

In honor of the company’s 50th anniversary, Weir’s breaks ground on a second store in Plano, Texas, with three generations of family members present. A special Family Declaration was signed reiterating their commitment to the Weir’s vision statement: “We are committed to honor the Lord Jesus Christ in all we do by operating Weir’s and all affiliated businesses according to Biblical principles.”

    1999October 25th

Weir’s opens a store in Plano on Preston Road near Spring Creek Parkway.

    2003June 19th

Dan Weir hands the reins to his nephew Mark Moore, the newly appointed CEO.

    2007December 6th
